The title of the position is ICT Students Attachee, with 4 posts available. The placements are in three regional offices: Mid-Zambezi, Headquarters Harare, and Matopo. These roles offer students the opportunity to gain supervised, practical experience in various ICT functions, working under ICT Technicians. The work involves both hardware and software tasks, network duties, help-desk operations and developing small ICT solutions tailored for the region.
Tasks
As an ICT Students Attachee, your responsibilities will include:
- Attending to ICT issues in the region (Mid-Zambezi, Harare HQ, or Matopo)
- Basic hardware troubleshooting — diagnosing and repairing or escalating hardware issues (computers, peripherals)
- Software troubleshooting — identifying software issues, bugs, misconfigurations, or installing patches
- Providing technical support — responding to user requests, assisting colleagues with ICT queries
- Becoming familiar with operating systems, especially Windows and Linux, and helping with their upkeep and configuration
- Assisting in help-desk operations — logging tickets, tracking issue resolution, possibly assisting in user guidance or training
- Network administration tasks — helping with network setup, monitoring, connectivity issues, possibly assisting with routers, switches maintenance
- Computer maintenance — cleaning, upgrading, ensuring devices are in good working order
- Software installation and configuration — installing new software, configuring systems as needed, customizing settings for users or for regional work
- Developing ICT solutions tailor-made for the region — small projects or tools that respond to local needs

Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Currently studying for a Degree or Diploma in Information Systems or a closely related field (ICT, Computer Science, Information Technology)
- (Optional / preferred) any certifications or coursework in operating systems (Windows & Linux), network fundamentals, or help-desk support
Experience
- Some hands-on experience, even if from school projects, labs or personal work, in using computers, installing software, configuring OS, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software problems
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal), ability to present findings or report clearly
- Research skills, because developing ICT solutions or troubleshooting often requires looking up resources, diagnosing unknown issues

- Number of Posts & Locations: Four (4) positions located in Mid-Zambezi, the Head Office in Harare, and Matopo region.
- Reporting Line: The Attachees will report to the respective ICT Technician in their region.
